COVID-19 Cases at Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong
Today there has been nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong (‘The College’) which involves students, bringing the total to 15 cases as of last week. The cases are now under investigation by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP), and to respect and protect the privacy of the infected student/staff member, the College cannot offer further information at this stage.
The College has been in significant discussions with the CHP and EDB on how we proceed as a College. In terms of management of COVID-19, the College is bound by the instructions of the CHP and EDB.
Due to the number of COVID-19 positive cases, CHP has advised the College to suspend all face-to-face classes from 22/9 to 28/9 (one week) and all Hong Kong based students to return home from 22/9 to 28/9 (one week). No classes or activities will take place face-to-face as all classes and activities will be online.
Protecting the College community from COVID-19 has been in the forefront of managing the current situation. The College Crisis Management Team has already mobilised necessary resources to provide support to the infected students. The College has also issued a letter to all parents who have children currently residing on campus about the incident. Please note the updated COVID-19 Health Management Procedures at LPCUWC, with the updated sections highlighted.
The College community will continue to observe the guidelines set out by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) and the Education Bureau.
