Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong (LPCUWC) is pleased to announce that 28% of its graduates in May 2020 have received 40 or more Diploma points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma exams, higher than the world average of 7.6% (in May 2019).

Out of a maximum of 45 Diploma points, 2 graduates obtained 45 with four 44s and seven 43s. The figures have been released based on the provisional results of IB Diploma 2020.

"These results are a real testament to the students and staff who have worked together in completion of internal assessment grades under challenging circumstances. With the majority of students off campus, many in different locations around the world, the results speak volumes about the tenacity of our students and teachers," LPCUWC Principal Arnett Edwards said.

Committed to whole person education, LPCUWC graduated 121 students in May 2020. It is home to a diverse community of over 250 students from over 80 countries who learn from each other on its scenic campus in Ma On Shan. Students’ easy accessibility to and close ties with its rich international mix of teachers, who are experts in different fields and who also live on campus with their families, boost the viability of LPCUWC for pre-university studies.

Over 40% of students in LPCUWC are funded by scholarships. Its new Solar Power System Project, dubbed the largest in a school setting in Hong Kong, is set to provide additional need-based scholarships for students in Hong Kong and other countries.

LPCUWC is one of 18 UWC schools and colleges across the globe, established in 1992 on a mission to make education “a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.” Its unique approach to teaching-learning is carried out on the three pillars of UWC education: Academics, Education Outside the Classroom, and Residential Life.
